if anyone knows the story the frog prince? where the frog retrieves the princess's golden ball when it falls to the bottom of the lake, then she does not keep her promise and take the frog home. the frog goes anyway, and the king says he is allowed in the palace. the princess gets angry and throws the frog against a wall, where he melts and becomes a handsome prince, who marries the princess.
the golden ball, which had utmost importance in the beginning of the story, the princess's most prized possesion! where is it now? it has been forgotten.

Having been a frog for so long his small amphibian Brain didn't understand the In's and outs of running a kingdom and as the princess was such a spoilt little cow she coerced him into squandering the coffers.
Once this had occurred she eventually remembered the golden ball stuck in the bottom of the cupboard hidden under a pile of shoes. She duly sold this on to a pirate for an only slightly less than fair price.
The pirates name was Captain Jack Sparrow (and we all know what happened to him!)

What is that little bearing-like golden ball earring for dudes called?
If you've ever played Bully for PS2, on one of the loading pictures the dude has that earring on the left ear and its like a little gold ball thats like....3 mm diameter. What he did today was brutal but I believe that he deserves it. He played well throughout the tournament and it would be good to at least retire with some pride!

I think so. He was the player who literally carried his team through the rough patches. I think he wanted to show that he was willing to do everything for his team, so no one could fault him for that incident. It would have been terrible if he felt that he didn't do everything in his ability during the game.

I agree that Cannavaro deserved the Golden Ball... He was brilliant and consistent throughout the entire tournament and lead the champions to perfection!!! Zidane played well despite his lapse in better judgement -- I'm not attacking him I'm just saying that a player of his calibre should have been the bigger man and walk away, headbutting Materazzi isn't really worth the effort -- but I think Cannavaro was just that little bit better!!!

I called him every time as a GREAT player, and I perfectly remember Hamburger SV - Juventus 3-1, Champions League, 24 October 2000 (headbutt and red card...). To me he remains the same GREAT player I know. Losing his head in few match isn't such a shame to diminish a GREAT player who has his name in football history to a normal player, but this cancels every chance he had to win the golden ball. It seems so clear.

I agree - I think its fair for him to be given the award. He played some amazing football in this world cup: for a man of 34 years, he put to shame alot of the young players in the tournament. I agree - I think its fair for him to be given the award. He played some amazing football in this world cup: for a man of 34 years, he put to shame alot of the young players in the tournament. The award is given based on the best football performance in the cup, and clearly he deserves it more than anyone else. Good thing FIFA didnt change their mind after what happened in the final, with all the pressure of playing in a final and being the captain, i can understand how he would blow up like that given Materazzi's insults - which I presume mustve been pretty bad. Good job Zidane! He's still the best footballer in the last 20 years no doubt about it!
