Do you think Zidane will still get the golden ball after his headbutting incident?

What he did today was brutal but I believe that he deserves it. He played well throughout the tournament and it would be good to at least retire with some pride!

Do you think Zidane will still get the golden ball after his headbutting incident?
I think so. He was the player who literally carried his team through the rough patches. I think he wanted to show that he was willing to do everything for his team, so no one could fault him for that incident. It would have been terrible if he felt that he didn't do everything in his ability during the game.
Reply:if winning the award was important to him, then he should have kept himself in check. he ruined his chances because of his unsportsmanlike conduct. giving him an award inspite of his behavior is like sending an unruly child to his room where all of his toys are.
Reply:no .. there were many players who played better and cleaner !!
Reply:i believe that too but what he just did makes me think twice if he is gonna get the golden ball.
Reply:He is a good player, but after that incident I don't think they will reward him...he showed bad sportsmanship and that's not what real players are made of.
Reply:Albeit undeserved, he received it.
Reply:no
Reply:no since he went to the locker room, and didn't come out for the closing ceremony.
Reply:I think that Zizou's chances of winning the golden ball award is now over after that serious headbutting incident. But Fabio Cannavaro on the other hand is definately a formidable contender. He has been solid in defence and a vital figure in helping Italy win its recently achieved fourth wold cup title! Forza Italia! I am backing Cannavaro to win!
Reply:buffon will get it
Reply:I agree. I hope Cannavaro/ Buffon gets it. They've been amazing throughout the tournament.
Reply:If he was willing to do EVERYTHING for his team, he would have played on and helped score some goals, or even the penalties. But no, he had to headbutt an opponent and get himself sent off, disappointing his team who had relied on him. Even the coach said it all went bad after he got sent off, so everyone has the right to blame him for that.

And I hope Cannavaro wins the Golden Ball - amazing player with a clean record and completely good sportsmanship.
Reply:Obviously the other player finally got to him... he blew it big time at the big stage and that is what his careeer will be rembered by now.
