Cannavaro got the European Golden ball for Europe's best player not FIFA 's golden ball.

Reply:zizou won the WC 2006 golden ball for best player of the tournament. cannavaro’s prize is the ballon d’or or golden ball for european footballer of 2006, same one zizou got in 1998 after france won the WC. the one mentioned in your previous Q is fifa world footballer of the year which zizou won three (3) times in 1998, 2000, 2003. cannavaro is a contender for this but my guess is, it will go to someone else this year. if he misses out on this one, there’s still the ballon d’or which is v. prestigious in itself.
