I think what Zidane did was wrong but not barbaric. He had a reason. He didn't kill Matarazzi or even injure him enough to leave the field. He gave him a headbutt. I think the punishment was right. Zinedine Zidane is a very good player and a classy guy who just lost his temper. He's not a repeat offender and he certainly didn't do anything to have his trophy taken away.

Reply:no. Cannarvaro didn't outshine Zidane. Cannarvaro was only doing his job as a captain. But Zidane was the super star, the Maestro that uplifted the whole French nation and encouraged the team advancing into the final. Just b/c he was acting barbaric, everyone know about his bad temper; I mean, how many times he's headbutted people? But fans and supporters don't care. A legend will always be legendary, and he deserves the Golden Ball for his retirement from the field.
