I'm looking for a ball as similar to a soccer ball as possible. She has punctured and deflated every soccer ball I have ever had.
Any recs? The more specific (brand, where to get it, etc.) the better.
Thanks.
What kind of ball can I get to kick around with my Golden Retriever that she won't deflate with her teeth?
try a horse ball, they don't deflate and can stand up to any dog I have seen, I know friends with goldens who use them. Check out stores that carry horse equipment
Reply:A big tennis ball.
Reply:First of all , my dog would shred a foam ball in no time at all. We have a basket ball for our Chesapeake and it has held up quite well. We did take a little bit of the air out of it so it had a little more give than usual.
Reply:I stick with tennis balls. They like them. They can fit more
than one ball in their mouth at one time.
Reply:Why not a KONG?
Hard rubber, but soft enough to chew on.
I have had three large breeds, (Labs, Rots, Chows) that absolutley love them
You can also put treats inside the kongs to keep the dogs busy.
Reply:Bowling ball. Plain and simple.
Reply:I've never really looked at "big dog" toys, but I know they make little latex squeaky toys that seem to be indestructible to a min pin I know who will shred anything vinyl, cloth, foam, woven, etc. in under 5 minutes. . . the little (about tennis-ball size) soccer-decorated balls she has have lasted close to a year so far even though they are seem to be one of her most favorite toys ever.
I don't know if they make anything like this that would work for your dog, but the latex toys solved our problem -- they just stretch and bend lots when bitten, so the teeth don't actually make holes, and there are (of course) no strings to pull. They don't at first seem like they'd hold up anywhere near as well as vinyl balls, etc. do since they're so squishy, but I think that's the key to why they do.
Reply:Have you tried a foam soccer ball? She can't deflate it if it's foam! They are the cheap things sold in places like the dollar store!
Reply:A basket ball. I used to have a hound/retriever looking mutt that loved chasing balls when they would get kicked. He had a habit of puncturing balls with his teeth, too. A basket ball was the best toy for him and it never deflated. Any orange normal basket ball would do, but my late dog Elvis's basket ball was a Spalding.
Reply:Foam balls, ahh, that is so cute. The point would be to find a ball for these dogs that can be used to play fetch with for more than 10 minutes, thanks for the tips on the Kong ball
Reply:deflate means AIR is involved AIR means pressure PRESSURE means it can be POPPED... Try a ball with a sponge or a Softball.
Reply:"Kong" makes and indestructable ball. You can usually find them on petsmart, petco or drsfostersmith.com
