he should be stripped of the award.

Can anyone tell me how to justify FIFA's complete act of hypocricy in awarding the Golden Ball award to Zidane
The Golden Ball award is given to the Player of the Tournament.


Its true that Zizou's head butt certainly is inexcusable but it also doesn't discount the fact that he led the comeback of France in this WorldCup.


After begining the World Cup on a disappointing note with disaapointing results like 0-0 draw with Switzerland, 1-1 draw with Korea, it was all thanks to Zidane that France made it to the finals. Theiry Henry on the other hand was flailing and not scoring despite being the lead striker. At this age, after so many campaigns, it was truly remarkable to see the energy and skills that he put on display. Zidanes has been a spirited performance.





Its no big surprise that FIFA has seen fit to award Zizou the Golden Ball for being a stalwart and one of the best players of this generation.

Reply:Man man man... It was nominated by FIFA and then judged/voted by high quality sports journalists from over the world..
Reply:Well, the voting was done at half time during the Final...before Zidane got sent off!





There 's no doubt that he has been the best player during the tournament and so probably deserves it. But if the voting had been left until the end of the last game, as should have hapened..then I'm completely sure not quite so many votes would have been given to him !

Zidane is the best man for that award. FIFA is fair..


its fair to give Cannavaro the silver bal and Pirlo the bronze ball..


No other man plays like Zidane in the midfield. He definitely deserves it.


I still live in shock after so many hours since Zidane butted against Materazii's chest.. cant believe he did that.. he didnt keep his cool til the end.. %26gt;%26lt;


But this man is so great and he should always be remembered for his skill and effort on the fields. If it wasnt for Zidane, France would have much difficulties getting in to the final..


I respect Zidane and He sure deserves the Golden Ball Award

Also, barring that regrettable incident, he did deserve it. FIFA should not reconsider.
Reply:FIFA? The accredited reporters from all over the world with 2012 votes awarded him with the golden ball and as the greatest player in this mundial not FIFA! FIFA only selected him to be one of the 10 candidate. After all he was the best player and in this mundial! No doubt about it!
