Who was first Golden Ball's winner no born in Europe?

The Golden Ball is the trophy that gives the sport magazine France Football to the best player in the European continent. Initially they only voted to the European soccer players, but from 1995 they extended all the players who militated in an European club, independently of its nationality.

So officially, George Weah was the first player nonborn in Europe that won the Golden Ball in 1995. He was born in Liberia.

But, the first player not born in Europe that won the Golden ball was Alfredo Di Stéfano. He won it playing for Real Madrid and having the Spanish nationality, but he was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He won in 1957 and 1959.

Who was first Golden Ball's winner no born in Europe?
George Weah of LIBERIA was the first player born outside of Europe to win the Ballon d'Or @ European Footballer Of The Year in 1995. he was the only African player to win the award.

meanwhile, the trio of Brazilian players: Ronaldo (1997 %26amp; 2002), Rivaldo (1999) %26amp; Ronaldinho (2005) has also won the European Footballer Of The Year as non European born players.
