Is Ironstone bank affiliated with the LDS church? I noticed they have a mormonesque golden ball on their roof.

Actually, Sarah, the Church has and does own some banks and financial institutions.

Beneficial Financial comes to mind. Zions Bank comes to mind.

Ironstone? I'm not quite sure, but a golden ball wouldn't necessarily mean anything. The Church tends to "play down" its ownership of anything commercial, so I doubt it would put such a recognizable mark on its commercial buildings.

This is from the website.

Our History

IronStone Bank has experienced exceptional growth by providing extraordinary service to small to mid-sized businesses, medical, professional and retail customers.

IronStone Bank began in 1997 as Atlantic States Bank, a federal thrift institution serving the Southeastern United States. We opened our first office in Norcross, Ga., rapidly growing throughout the Metro Atlanta market. In 1998, we expanded into the Fort Myers-Naples area of Southwest Florida and later to the Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County regions.

In 2002, Atlantic States Bank moved into Austin, Texas, under the name IronStone Bank, bringing our customer-focused brand of banking to high-growth markets in the Western United States. In 2004, we selected IronStone Bank as the name for the company in all the markets we serve to better reflect our steady growth, potential and culture.

Today, IronStone Bank delivers exemplary service and comprehensive banking products to growing, vibrant communities in Georgia, Florida, Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Product and service offerings go beyond traditional loans and deposits to include wealth management, leasing, working capital for businesses, cash management and much more.

IronStone Bank is a subsidiary of First Citizens BancShares Inc. (Nasdaq: FCNCA), one of the 100 largest financial holding companies in the United States. BancShares’ other major subsidiary is First Citizens Bank, which was established in 1898. First Citizens is headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., and has more than 330 branches throughout North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland.

IronStone Bank exemplifies the same long-standing principles of strength and tradition that have fueled the success of the First Citizens franchise. Following in the footsteps of our parent company, we believe that our customers come first.
Reply:The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does NOT own any banks. Members of the church might, but not the church itself. And what exactly is a "mormonesque ball"? Never heard that one before.
