Why does my golden retriever (8 months) like to dip her ball in her water dish and then bring it to me to play

fetch with her?

Goldens have a natural instinct for water and for fetching birds from water. This is his gift to you. It means he loves you.
Reply:aww thats cute, well golden retrivers love water and fetch so i guess he is convining both of them
Reply:My dog waits till you are right in front of him (he is about waist high) and he SHAKES his head and slings slobber all over you. Forget about going near him after he drinks water!
Reply:I Love It!! You have never been around retrievers... I had one that would not let me mow the lawn and throw a single stick away---- brought it back. Wet is a very favorite thing for G.R.'s. Love your doggie and don't come outside unless you are ready to PLAY.
Reply:UGGGGGHHHHH!!! I hate that too!!!! My yellow lab does the same thing, but she is 8 years! She gets soo excited about playing ball and she wants water..........sooooo, she combines the two!

BTW, at that point, I just kick the ball instead of picking it up! :o)
Reply:Well it's really nice that she washes it off before she gives it to you, mine give me their ball all slimmy ;)
Reply:Hows your blood pressure?

If this is something that the dog does to annoy you, he must be doing a good job. Or else he's just an 8 mth pup and he just wants to play.
Reply:That's cute...that's the fun thing about having animals..they do the silliest things...
