Does anybody agree that McClaren has made the right decision?

to start Sean Wright Phillips instead of Golden Balls?

Does anybody agree that McClaren has made the right decision?
GIVEN HIS OPTIONS, YES. BUT I WOULD HAVE TOUGHT THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS.
Reply:Well ... does anybody care. They are all overpaid morons who don't give a hoot so long as they get paid.
Reply:SWP the future? Bet Manchester City are still laughing their nuts off at the selling of him to Chelsea.
Reply:Yes, good decision. Beckham is the past, SWP the future. Beckham should never play for England again. He's spent the last six years living off that goal agianst Greece and all his celebrity nonsense is a pain in the backside.
Reply:i agree that beckham is past his prime, but with the striking options mclaren (meaning crouch), he needs to take advantage of beckhams crossing ability AT SOME POINT. some would probably say that he should start beckham to take advantage of the crossing to crouch, then put wright phillips in when the croatian defense is tired - i say the opposite.

start wright-phillips, let him tire the defense out (perhaps the fullbacks need to be subbed off?), give the central defenders fits by moving crouch around and having gerrard/lampard attacking the box, then bring beckham on to a weakened left defensive side, let him find crouch's head, and let crouch knock it down into the path of gerrard, lampard, or cole. of course, dont be that one dimensional but you get the idea...
Reply:Beckham is not to blame for the situation that England find themselves in.

The fault falls 100% on the players - prima donnas - who actually believe that they are worthy of wearing the Three Lions Shirt.

They have got themselves into this problem because of their lack of pride, passion and egoistic mentality that they are actually world class players, of which they are not.

The manager/coach has inherited players who are not worthy of the great support given by English fans.

Lampard and Co. should be given the ticket home.
Reply:YES, HAVE YOU EVER SEEN BECKHAM BEAT a player while having the ball at the same time?????/i dont fink so
Reply:Oh yes. Beckham couldn't even hit a corner properly until half way through the match on Friday.
Reply:listen to you lot slaggin off beckham he scored some important goals for us in the past were you lot on his back then, no i dont think, so give it a rest. becks ain't past it, far from it, hes still got what it takes to put a ball on someones nut in the box better than anyone else, Phillips has got the pace and can defiantly create chances let him start see how he does, becks will get a look in, second half perhaps
Reply:yes becks is past it
Reply:do you really believe that Mclaren made these decisions? i don't think so, Mclaren didn't just go to watch Beckham, he was sent, the decision to play Carson instead of Robinson was made by the FA to avoid further embarresment, the decision to play Wright Philips was also made by the FA because the public want him there, Beckham is on the bench because the FA still believe that he puts bums on seats, Mclaren is now just a face to call manager, he will be gone as soon as England are out, either tonight or next year when we get humiliated, the FA will then say it was his fault, let's remember that Mclaren was not the first choice of the FA, he was actually 3rd choice but they had to make a quick decision, and he was the only one who still wanted the job. take care and good luck.
Reply:of course its the right decision sean wright phillips is an awesome player and he has a lot of hidden talent and speed he should be a starter all the time as for becks.....he couldn't hit a ball last time he played
Reply:I'm not sure. Although that would probably have been my decision if I was manager. He can always bring Beckham on later on, if necessary.
Reply:He might well have done...but I just can't bare to even hear him speak!

McClaren just sounds like a parody of a football manager. I know this is deeply unfair and I bet he is a really nice guy...but there is just something about him that makes me feel our football is going down the pan in a sea of cliches.
Reply:the only good decision that man could make is to walk away
