Why do the people who 'steal' on Golden balls, often apologise?

On the UK game show with Jasper Carrott, the people who 'steal' the cash at the end usually apologise to the person who loses out.

If they were really sorry, wouldn't they share their winnings with the other finalist?

If they don't, then they are not truely sorry to have 'stolen' it.

Probably they know what they have done is wrong, but then thats the game. I love guessing what they're gonna do though, especially when they look like they're gonna split, then they steal, lol, its awesome lol
Reply:re comment about how many balls to look at in the split and steal stage.

If first ball wasn't the one I wanted to use, I would look at the other one, just to ensure no mistake had been made. Report It

Reply:i love that game show so much, its like deal or no deal, but worse. much worse. and i hate deal or no deal.

GOLDEN BALLLLLLLLLLLS
Reply:Yea, and haven't you noticed the contestants near the end when they are given the split %26amp; steal balls, common sence says each person only need to look at one of the balls in front of them 'cos it's obvious what the other ball is.

If i looked at one ball %26amp; it said steal i'd know the other one would say split!. lol :-)
